Hi, I’m Sophia!
I may look young, but I’m very mature when it comes to my job. I work mornings on the daycare and aftercare side, and have also worked birthday parties on weekends so I have tons of experience with children of all ages. Previously, I worked several jobs centred around working with kids. I was a swim instructor for two years, a lifeguard for a summer, a babysitter for a year and a teacher’s assistant at Saint Basil School.
I am currently in university to become a child psychologist. As a child, I had many adults around me that I could look up to and talk to. Now, as an adult, I want to be that same kind of role model for the next generation- a person a child can feel safe and comfortable to talk to. I truly care about the children and coworkers surrounding me and am very grateful to be a part of Fit Kids.
I’ve played hockey for 14 years. I played on boys’ teams up until I turned 10, then switched to girls’ hockey. Throughout my hockey career, I’ve had amazing experiences such as travelling to Ontario to be a part of Hockey Day In Canada with hockey legends like Lanny McDonald, Don Cherry, Ron MacLean and P.K. Subban. I was known as a speedy skater and always worked hard at the sport I loved. During gym time at FitKids, I usually spend my time playing floor hockey!
I also am a huge art fan. I have always been super creative and passionate about all forms of art. With each child, I try to provide crafts that match their interests so they can express themselves and get their creative energy flowing.
I can’t wait to create fun, heartwarming memories here at Fit Kids!
