Hi, I'm Theresa. I appear young, but I promise I have years on me! Although I've had the chance to work in a variety of environments, childcare is where my passion really resides. From managing a retail store to working in a family medical practice, specialty pediatric clinic, hair salon and supervising a group home, I can confidently say I’m where I want to be.
I worked for 1 year at the salon as a coordinator. However, eventually, I ventured into the medical & social work field where I was promoted to a Supervisory role just after 6 months and that itself was 14-16 hour days. After life-altering events, I took on a mother role to my niece and became her guardian when she was born; she is now 2 years old. During this time, I returned to the salon industry and expanded my repertoire to become a Laser Technician, a position that offered the flexibility, required to care for a newborn as I didn’t have a strong support system.
Prior to this adjustment period, I picked up yoga as a self-care routine which allowed me to incorporate exercise into my daily routine. In addition, yoga provided me the capacity to practice patience which has benefitted in my daily life and will strongly help in this new environment at the daycare.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t allowed to join sports as a younger child. Although, I had a small taste of wrestling prior to getting pulled out with my sisters, I don’t count it. However, if I could choose I would’ve joined more contact sports such as wrestling, football and or rugby. On my off days, I take my baby out to the park or a recreational facility to allow the cousins quality time together. I also enjoy karaoke which I used to do tons of back in the day with my sisters and dad!
